Adam’s Apples – This film is a peculiar dark comedy about two very dissimilar men who have a battle of wills. It is a newly developed religious fanatic versus a hard core neo-Nazi villain. The battle of good vs. evil is on. The main stars are Ulrich Thomsen, Mads Mikkelsen, Nicolas Brom, and Paprika Steen. (German-Danish-comedy directed by Anders Thomas Jensen)

Alfie – Well redone interpretation of Bill Naughton play he additionally authored. Caine is wonderful as philandering Cockney playboy who is put in a very difficult situation. Cast includes Michael Caine, Shelley Winters, Millicent Marin, Julia Foster, Jane Asher, Shirley Anne Field, Graham Stark, and Murray Melvin. (114 minutes,’66)

The All-American Boy – Muddled drama in reference to Olympic aspirant Voight’s effort to be a successful boxer; eye-catching locations of northern California, but that’s all. Cast includes Jon Voight, Ned Glass, Anne Archer, and Carol Androsky. (104 minutes,’89)

Onionhead – A chaotic motion picture with Griffith joining the Coast Guard in pre WW2 and becoming a ships chef. The motion picture attempts to be a comedy, a romance, and a drama at the same time and succeeds at none. Cast includes Andy Griffith, Felicia Farr, Walter Matthau, Erin O’Brien, Joe Mantell, Ray Danton, James Gregory, Joey Bishop, Roscoe Karns, Claude Akins, Peter Brown, and Tige Andrews. Borderline – Peculiar thriller comedy in which L.A. policeman Trevor tries to assemble proof contrary to cunning drug smuggler Burr when mixing with hard gentleman MacMurray in Mexico. Starts out hopefully, although eventually slows down in absurdity. Burr makes a lucid scoundrel.The cast includes Fred MacMurray, Claire Trevor, Raymond Burr, Jose Torvay, Morris Ankrum, and Roy Roberts. (88 minutes,’50)
