Wow, how the times have changed! The options to watch movies at home are now infinite as the most convenient answer yet is downloading movies right to you own computer, anytime of the day and any picture that you want. Like Water for Chocolate – Striking and intense film from a work of fiction by Laura Esquivel set in the early part of the 20th century – a youthful woman’s life is conditioned by her somber and steadfast mother, who treats her terribly. Sumptuous story, not without humor, with an admirable cast and a top of the line performance from lead actress Cavazos. Cast includes Lumi Cavazos, Marco Leonardi, Regina Tome, Mario Ivan Martinez, and Ada Carrasco. (113 minutes,’92)

The Indian in the Cupboard – A youngster (Scardino) receives an ancient chest as a birthday present, and finds out that when he sets a toy Indian inside and turns the key, the Indian comes to life. Then he sees that the Indian is not a toy, but a real individual. Troubles follow, particularly while his best playmate summons to life a toy cowboy. Cast includes Hal Scardino, Lindsay Crouse, Richard Jenkins, Rishi Bhat, and Nestor Serrano. (96 minutes,’95)

The All-American Boy – Disorderly drama in reference to Olympic aspirant Voight’s effort to be a triumphant boxer; eye-catching locations of northern California, but that is all. Cast includes Jon Voight, Ned Glass, Anne Archer, and Carol Androsky. (104 minutes,’89)

Onionhead – A confused film with Griffith joining the Coast Guard in pre WW2 and becoming a ships chef. The flick attempts to be a comedy, a romance, and a drama at the same time and succeeds at none. Cast includes Andy Griffith, Felicia Farr, Walter Matthau, Erin O’Brien, Joe Mantell, Ray Danton, James Gregory, Joey Bishop, Roscoe Karns, Claude Akins, Peter Brown, and Tige Andrews. Stage Door Canteen – Wartime story of romance between cadet and hostess at N.Y.C.’s fabled canteen is filled with cameos, walk-ons, talks, and musical numbers by a amazing battery of megastars, containing Katharine Hepburn, Harpo Marx, Paul Muni, Helen Hayes, Benny Goodman, Tally Basie, and Edgar Bergen. Cast includes Cast includes Cheryl Walker, Wiliam Terry, MaIjorie Riordan, Lon McCallister, Margaret Eary, and Michael Harrison. (132 minutes,’43)

Borderline – Unusual thriller comedy in which L.A. cop Trevor tries to assemble proof contrary to cunning drug smuggler Burr when mixing with hard gentleman MacMurray in Mexico. Starts out favorably, although eventually slows down in absurdity. Burr makes a lucid scoundrel.The cast includes Fred MacMurray, Claire Trevor, Raymond Burr, Jose Torvay, Morris Ankrum, and Roy Roberts. (88 minutes,’50)
